Is this what Luxury is supposed to feel like?
No mahogany panels in the rooms. No fawning butlers vying for your suitcase. No illusions of grandeur before you realize that hotels are in the rental business – renting you a lifestyle you cannot and should not sustain, indefinitely.
Just the pressing, immediate propinquity to the ocean. The blanket of sun that encroaches on the peninsula. Land meets sea. Slowly then all at once, you feel the basal desire to be let be.
Luxury is intimate. Basic. Pure. Is.

“It was strange the way he loved her; a side long and almost casual love, as if loving her were simply a matter of course, too natural to mention.” -Chad Harbach, The Art of Fielding
