I Choose You, Peakachu – Olomana Three Peaks Full Hike

Oahu, Hawaii. [November 2016]

Made it.

Rain or shine, gust or dust.

There is no difficulty, no fear, no quantifiable deterrent to what lies ahead. There is only one question you already know the answer to before the beginning, as you stare up at the massive monolith overshadowing your entire being: will you conquer it, or will you let it conquer you?

Whether you make it or not, it was already written in the stars and in your heart.

Now feet, fail me not. Step one, go.

There is no step two.

Views of imminent death by Peaks 2 and 3, as glimpsed from Peak 1
Look Ma, no broken bones (yet)
Surveying the Kingdom from atop Peak 3
Rappelling up and down 70-degree cliffs

“The pure present is an ungraspable advance of the past devouring the future. In truth, all sensation is already memory.” -Henri Borgsen. As retold by Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

“Kill one man, and you are a murderer. Kill millions of men, and you are a conqueror. Kill them all, and you are a god.” -Jean Rostand, Thoughts of a Biologist
